Roy Eugene Geiger age 86 of Lafayette, passed away 10:35 PM February 9, 2023 in Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital.  He was born February 4, 1937 in New Richmond to the late Morris Geiger, Sr and Irene Kuhns Geiger.  He married Alice Howard in Danville, IL July 18, 1970 and she preceded him in death March 9, 2004.

Roy was a 1954 graduate of Coal Creek Central High School.  He was employed 10 years with Morrison Automotive and retired after 30 years as a supervisor with the Crawfordsville Wastewater Treatment Plant.  He had been an active member of the Crawfordsville Eagles Lodge and served as President in the 1980s.

Following his retirement he would often be seen driving and 'running his traps'.  He enjoyed playing with 'claw machines' found in stores where he gathered stuffed animals he shared with police and fire departments to share with needy children.

He loved to eat and cook.  He had operated a ceramic shop from his home for many years.Surviving are: step-daughter Donna Shepherd of Danville.  Granddaughter who he and Alice raised from day one, Sue (Scott) Nave of Indianapolis, granddaughters; Connie (Roy) Mills and Tish (Mike) Freeman. Great-granddaughter Leticia (Dylan) Barrett of Waynetown.  Five great-great-grandchildren: Damien, Bradley, Kambria, Quentin & Kaia.
