Hillsboro – Russell William 'Russ' Hossler age 53, died unexpectedly in his residence at 5:40 A.M. Monday, August 9, 2010. He was born on October 1, 1957 in Carroll County, Maryland the son of William and Mary Jane Wilhelm Hossler, they both preceded him in death. In 1979 he was married to Barbara Jean Smith and she survives.

Russ graduated from North Carroll High School in Maryland and farmed in Maryland until 1991. They relocated to the Hillsboro-Waynetown area in 2002 when his wife was transferred by Random House to Crawfordsville. He previously has been employed at the Whitesville Mill, had worked construction until a back injury. He most recently had been working as a part time farmhand for Seth Bacon Farms.

Russ enjoyed collecting farm toys especially anything Oliver. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing before becoming disabled.

Surviving along with his wife are two daughters; Stacie Hossler and Nicci (Jason) Thompson both of Hillsboro, a son Jacob Hossler at home. Three grandchildren: Cheyanne, Ely and Pepper. A brother Ronald Hossler and a sister Betty Gorsuch both of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
