Sandra Ann Harshbarger Hockersmith age 82, of rural Crawfordsville, passed away in her home  Monday evening, June 9, 2025 following a lengthy illness.  She was born in Crawfordsville, IN March 6, 1943 to the late Warren and Doris Montgomery Harshbarger.  She married Clifford Dale Hockersmith in Liberty Chapel Church October 18, 1964, and he preceded her in death August 8, 2024.  Both Sandy and Dale raised their family and passed away in the home they built for 60 years.

Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.  She felt very fortunate she was able to be a stay at home mother raising their three children and being a housewife.  Sandy was born to be a Nana and was awarded seven amazing grandchildren.  She had an extensive Vera Bradly purse collection which she enjoyed and was a member of the Montgomery County Red Hats..  A highlight of her life was an Alaskan Cruise with Dale in 2015.

Surviving are: a daughter Lynn Hockersmith-Dyer of Crawfordsville.  Two sons; Jeff Hockersmith and Gary (Cindy) Hockersmith both of Crawfordsville.  Grandchildren: Jacob, Katie (Justin Arnold) & Derek Bowman all of Crawfordsville, Jordan (Alexis) Hockersmith of Flagstaff, AZ, Gabriel (Krysta) Hockersmith of Crawfordsville, Jessica Hockersmith & Ryan (Abbey) Hockersmith both of Crawfordsville, also surviving is her caregiver Maya Udindo.  A sister Diane (Gary) Allen of Leo, IN, Sisiter-in-law Vickie Harshbarger of Houston, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother David Harshbarger.

Visitation hours are 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Indian Creek Cemetery following the funeral.  Visit us online at www.familyandfriendsfh.com to sign the guest book or share a memory.
