Obituary

Lafayette – Sheila F. Carman Anderson Horn, age 55 of Lafayette, died in her home, early Tuesday, March 29, 2016 following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 14, 1960 daughter of the late Howard and Cecil Murray Smoot. She was married to Jeffrey A. Horn at the Jackson Heights Church, May 4, 2013 and he survives.

Sheila was raised in Milford, Ohio and graduated from Milford High School she had also attended Purdue University. She moved to the Lafayette area in 2001 and started with SIA (Subaru) as a temporary employee. When her health failed after 17 plus years, she had advanced into human resources for 10 years. She had formerly attended First Assembly of God Church of Lafayette. Sheila was a people person and 'people gathered' where she was! Her granddaughter was the light of her life.

Surviving along with her husband Jeffrey are: a son, Bryan Carman (Janeen Kuczero) of Lafayette and her granddaughter Madison Carman. A brother, Bill (Betty) Wright of Batavia, OH, Five sisters: Jean Nelson of Cincinnati, OH, Doris (Rufus) Hansford of Campbellsville, KY, Deborah (Ronnie) Jessee of Amelia, OH, Oneda (Jerry) Dobson of Sunman, IN and Freda Kincade of Batesville, IN. Step-children; Jeffrey 'Clayton' (Emily) Horn of Waynetown, Olivia Horn (Michael White) of Crawfordsville, Jonathan Horn of Wingate and Victoria Horn of Crawfordsville. Step-grandchildren Jackson, Jake, Conner and Tyler. Her in-laws, Ron and Margaret Horn of Crawfordsville. Her husband's siblings: Sheila (Gene) Truncellito of New Jersey, David (Kim) Horn of Crawfordsville and Anita (Rodney) Carpenter of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her family will greet guests, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2106 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. A 'Celebration of Life' service' will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Warren Stewart officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Meharry Cemetery, Wingate. Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Research.
