Susan Carol (Warren) Horn, 82, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Born 0n August 8, 1943, in South Haven, Michigan, while her parents were vacationing, Susan was raised on a farm in West Lafayette, Indiana, and spent most of her life in nearby West Point before retiring to Green Valley, Arizona. She graduated from Montmorenci High School and attended Purdue University.

Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend whose warmth, intelligence and adventurous spirit enriched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Carol) Oliver of Attica and Jeff (Misti) Oliver of West Point; six grandchildren, Hannah and Eloise Oliver, Gentry Oliver, Cora Copeland, Keegan and Carlie Woods; one great grandchild, Blakely Oliver; her special niece, Sarah Jane (Greg) Maddox; and sister Sally Warren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and soulmate of 26 years, Billy Rosen Horn; her brother, Richard Warren Jr.; and her parents, Richard Warren Sr. and Eloise (Guirl) Warren. She was also married to and later divorced from her first husband, Dr. Jack Oliver, DVM.

A proud and dedicated civil servant, Susan devoted 26 years to the United States Postal Service before retiring. She approached her work with the same commitment, integrity and determination that defined every aspect of her life. Susan found joy in cooking meals for those she loved, tending to her many plants and losing herself in a good book. No matter where life took her, Susan remained a devoted Purdue Boilermaker fan. She cheered on her Boilermakers with unwavering loyalty, celebrating the victories, enduring the heartbreaks, and proudly supporting her team through every season. She possessed an adventurous spirit that never faded. Travel was one of her greatest passions and she embraced every adventure with curiosity and excitement. Whether witnessing the Great Migration across the Serengeti plains in Africa (including a Hot Air Balloon Safari), marveling at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, or discovering countless destinations in between, she viewed the world with wonder and gratitude. Every new place became another cherished chapter in a life well lived.

Susan was cosmopolitan in her tastes, intellectually curious and never hesitated to express her opinions. You knew where she stood on any subject and she always spoke with honesty, conviction, authenticity and wit. Those who loved her admired her independence and respected her strength and fighting spirit. Above all, Susan loved her family. Her greatest legacy is the love, resilience and curiosity she passed on to all those she so deeply cherished. She taught by example that life should be lived fully, that the world is meant to be explored and that authenticity is one of life’s greatest virtues.

As we mourn Susan’s passing, we also celebrate a life lived with courage, curiosity and love. Her family asks that she be remembered not for the sadness of her passing, but for the joyful memories she created throughout her remarkable life’s journey. Whether through a shared meal, an unforgettable trip, a spirited conversation or a quiet act of kindness, Susan left each of us with moments to cherish. Those memories are her enduring legacy and they will continue to bring comfort, laughter and inspiration for generations to come.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, August 8, 2026 starting with a gathering of family and friends 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 AM in West Point, Cemetery. In lieu of floral contributions, the family asks donations be made to West Point Fire & Rescue, West Point United Methodist Church, West Point Cemetery or share acts of kindness performed in her memory.
