Thomas L. 'Tom' DeVault age 74 of the rural Romney/New Richmond community, passed away in his home, 9:51 AM, Monday, September 26, 2022.  He had been in failing health.  Tom was born in Lafayette, July 20, 1948 son of the late James L. and Eleanor Lewis DeVault.  He married Sandra P. Johnson July 31, 1969 on the family farm and she preceded him in death August 17, 2022.

Tom was a graduate of Southwestern High School and served with the US Navy.  Following his discharge, he returned home and farmed , raising grain and livestock until he retired.  He enjoyed restoring and collecting old tractors and taking 'Gator' rides around the farm.

Surviving are: two sons; Jimmy (Lesa) DeVault and their children Makayla & Austin, and Randy DeVault both of the Romney/New Richmond area.  He is also survived by a sister-in-law Sandra DeVault. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carl DeVault.

Visitation hours are 11:00 – 1:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.  Gravesides services will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, 1:30 PM with Pastor Jerry Miller.  Military Honors will be provided by Crawfordsville American Legion Post 72 Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, with envelopes available.  Visit us online at www.familyandfriendsfh.com to sign the guestbook of share a memory.
