Vera Michelle 'Shelly' Vansickle Pruett, age 53, a Waynetown native, returned to her heavenly home at 10:50 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, in Franciscan Health Hospital, Crawfordsville, surrounded by her family. Most recently, she had resided in Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville and Williamsburg Health Care. She was born in Frankfort, Indiana, on August 8, 1964, to John F. and Beverly A. Riley Vansickle, who survive in Waynetown.

Shelly was a 1982 graduate of North Montgomery High School and had remained a lifelong resident of Waynetown until her health failed. She was involved in retail management; formerly employed by Elston Bank, Kroger, Target, Boots Brothers, Crawford Foods, and The Journal Review. Shelly was a unique person who loved her family, friends, and Lucky13Radio. She was an avid collector of minions and bears.

Surviving along with her parents, John and Beverly, are: a son, Jeremy M. Pruett (companion Ashley Bacon) of Crawfordsville; two grandsons: Jaden M. Pruett and Ashton Scales; three granddaughters: Jalynn M., Audrie J., and Korie L. Pruett. Two sisters: Dianna (Brian) Verhey of Waynetown and Donna (Bruce) Harrison of Crawfordsville; grandmother, Dee Vansickle of Lebanon; childhood friend, Kathy Ryker of Waynetown; a special uncle, Eddie Vansickle of New Ross; One niece: Katelyn Harrison of Crawfordsville and two nephews: Derrick Verhey of Waynetown (companion Megan Guthrey) and Kyle Harrison of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frankie and Vera Geraldine Riley and Marvin Vansickle.

There will be a casual gathering of family and friends, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Cremation has been chosen.
