Virginia Rose Graves Edwards Branagin, age 86 of Crawfordsville, died 7:55 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 in Homewood Health, Lebanon, IN she had been in failing health. She was born in Danville, IL April 4, 1929, daughter of the late Jesse and Mary McCullough Graves. She was first married to Robert Edwards, they divorced, she married Paul Branagin in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1974.
Ginny was raised in Wingate and attended Wingate Schools until her sophomore year and she then graduated from Waynetown High School. She served over 40 years as a cook in various restaurants and college fraternities in Montgomery and Tippecanoe Counties.
She had attended and belonged to the former Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, had been active and served as an officer in all chairs of the Moose Lodge and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and horses.
Surviving are: a son, Michael Robert (Donna) Edwards of Lafayette. Four daughters: Phyllis Marie Gibson of Ladoga, Nancy Lu (J.D.) Clark of Ladoga, Judy Cochran of Crawfordsville and Carla Jean Watson of Waynetown. Nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding her in death are: her parents, husband Paul, great-grandson Jarod Chrisopher Edwards, two son-in-laws Curtis Cochran and Tom Watson, a brother Richard Graves and two sisters: Maxine Fuller and Helen Alfrey.
Visitation hours are 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2105 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate her funeral service will begin following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Dorman Winger officiating.
