Mellott – Virginia Lee Kessler Montgomery, age 86, died 12:20 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 in Williamsport Nursing and Rehab. Center, where she resided the past several years. She was born in Bowling Green, Ky May 1, 1927 daughter of the late John Thomas and Missouri Pearl Cople Kessler. She was married to Lionel Douglas Montgomery in Louisville, KY and he preceded her in death.
Virginia lived in the Mellott community for nearly 70 years and had worked for many years at the Hoosier Restaurant in Attica, before owning and operating The Flagtown Inn in Mellott, until she retired due to failing health.
Survivors include: a son, John Montgomery of St. Louis, MO and four daughters: Pam (Dennis) Bergstrasser of Ft. Myers, FL, Patricia (Rex) Mitchell of Crawfordsville, Suzanne Gookins of Mellott and Linda Harmon of Danville, IL. Fourteen grandchildren as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Sandy Kennedy, a son Douglas Montgomery and son-in-law Jack Harmon.
