Thomas 'Wayne' Bunnell 58 of the Wingate/Newtown community, died 10:20 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 following a brief battle with cancer at his sister's residence in Pendleton. He was born in Crawfordsville, September 16, 1954 son of Roy and Ruth Campbell Bunnell who survive.
Wayne attended school at Coal Creek Central and was in the first graduating class from North Montgomery High School. He was a machinist, employed over 30 years with Sommer Metalcraft in Crawfordsville, IN. Previously he worked for his father in Bunnell Machine Shop.
Wayne was an avid bowler, spending much time at Sycamore Lanes and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving along with his parents: a daughter: Sarah (Andy) Brothers of Lafayette. Sister: Sally (Don) Jones of Pendleton who served as his caregiver the past five months. Three brothers: Bill (Margaret) Bunnell of West Lebanon, Robert 'Bo' Bunnell of Wingate and Charles (Carol Ann) Bunnell of Rives Junction, MI. Two aunts: Jewell Dazey of Mooresville and Louise Cumbow of Veedersburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Wayne's family will greet guests, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral service, 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 with Pastors Duane Mycroft and Alan Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale.
