William "Billy" Dean Carter, 64, passed away on July 26, 2023 in his home in Scottsville, KY.  Billy was born in Lafayette, Indiana on November 15, 1959 to William and Mary (Hayes) Carter of Medaryville.

Bill spent his younger years living in Griffith Indiana before the family moved to the countryside in Wheatfield in 1976.  He attended West Central High School until he joined the US Navy.

Bill was a jack of all trades; truck driver, welder, mechanic, wood worker, and carpenter.  He was known by many as someone they could always count on for help…. Whether that meant working on their car or repairing something on their home.  Bill spent many years working on boat motors and homes around the Rochester area. He had a free spirit and a great love for the outdoors.

Surviving are:  his mother Mary (Hayes) Carter, of Medaryville, IN;  two sisters, Barb Troxel of Marshall, IL and Sandra (Gary) Saltsman of Medaryville, IN. His daughter: Angela (Robert) Wilson of Lebanon; his son, Tony (Jenny) Carter of  Morocco.  He has five grandchildren Caryn, Conner, Amanda, Kyle, and Kayla as well as two great grandchildren Kingston and Kai.  Bill has many Aunts, Uncles,  Nieces, Nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Carter.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life visitation at Meadow Springs, 8631 S Hwy 421 Francesville, IN, on Sunday, July 30th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST.  Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting the family.
