Stephen E. Philott, age 64, of Hillsboro passed away, 4:20 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 in his home, after fighting cancer the past few months.  He was born in Crawfordsville, June 7, 1957 son of the late Charles Donald and Thelma Louise Flint Philpott.  He married Linda Curtis on July 14, 1990 in Crawfordsville and she survives.

Stephen was a 1975 graduate of Fountain Central High School.  He retired in November after 45 years of service with RR Donnelley & Sons.  He most recently was in in charge of 'head lay up' department.  He and Linda have resided in Hillsboro the past 31 years.

Stephen and his family have been members of Faith Church, Lafayette the past 23 years.  When his daughters were involved in 4-H, Stephen served as a Cain Township 4-H Leader.  He enjoyed building model rockets, gardening, traveling and photography.  He loved dogs, but most of all he loved his family, being a dad and spending time with them.  He had a 'goofy' personality and during vacation time with his family it was referred to as 'silly Daddy week'!

Surviving along with his wife Linda, are:  two daughters; Tessa Marie Philpott and Sommer Shiann both of Hillsboro, a sister; Patricia (Gary) Jackson of Crawfordsville and brother; David (Joan) Philpott of Noblesville.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation hours are Noon – 2:00 PM Thursday, July 1, 2021, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dustin Folden officiating, at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.  Burial will follow in Waynetown Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Faith Church Men's Restoration Ministry.  Visit us online at www.familyandfriendsfh.com to sign the guest book or share a memory.
