Our Beginnings

Family & Friends Funeral Home is the result of a long-time dream of founders Wallace and Janet Hooker. After several years of thought, research, and anticipation, ground was broken in March 2005. It was the desire of Wallace and Janet to design and build a not-so typical funeral home. The reviews of first-time visitors indicate that the goal was achieved!

The Building Process

The floor plan, design, decorating, landscaping, and decor were overseen by Wallace and Janet.

Wallace served as the general contractor and was on site daily to oversee progress. Landscaping is still an ongoing process, trying to create a peaceful setting in rural Montgomery County.

Janet is responsible for the colors and decor of the funeral home. She was able to tastefully create a comfortable setting using non-typical decor. The reaction from visitors has been very positive.

Decor

Janet has decorated the funeral home with many items of local historical significance. It includes many photos, items advertising long-forgotten businesses, and pictures of family and friends.

As the seasons change, Janet is always busy keeping step with changes in decorations.
